A Family-Inspired Vision

The idea for Urban Cottage was born from a personal need within my family. My wife, my two young children, and I live in a charming worker’s cottage. With our elderly parents and extended family frequently visiting, we found ourselves needing more space. This led us to create a secondary dwelling on our property, designed to serve various purposes over time.

Initially, our Urban Cottage will serve as a veranda and patio area, providing a seamless connection to our backyard. With two bedrooms, it offers a comfortable stay for my mother-in-law, who visits weekly. As our children grow, they can move into the cottage, easing the transition into independent living in a challenging housing market.

Urban Cottage is not just another tiny home. We offer a higher-end product that harmonises with existing homes, adding character and appeal. Our cottages are built with 2.7-meter high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling tiles, and high-quality kitchens, avoiding the flat-pack and prefab styles.
